Ca-lay-zee Weekend

Caulfield - 23rd Saturday Night, Ms Crocs invited a small group of friends over for a BBQ at her place...  Haven't had a BBQ for a while now...  It was a long day, and in the end.. everyone had to go their separate ways. Some had prior engagement, some didn't show up, some were exhausted... But we all had fun and met a couple of new people...

Mr. Silhouette got lucky pinches from the ladies... Learn to make funny facial expression with that face of yours! Come on! You can do it!

On our way home... manage to strike a pose at Souther Cross Station...

Thanks Ms Crocs for the BBQ... It was fun and a bit cold (weather), but it was all good! Thanks!

Dinner @ Home

A day we planned to have couple of family friends over... So we started the day with a short walk on Elizabeth Street. Then headed towards Sydney Road to buy our grocery...

Me & MsShooter... otw to get some breakfast with the rest of the family...

What a day! So many things to do before the dinner!

Me & My best morning pal... "Mocha"!!
@ Hudson Coffee, Elizabeth St.

And bagels with cream cheese or butter..

Mr Italian, the owner of a Mediterranean store , on Sydney rd, where they sell everything Italian!! Wow!!

"Hey you! Take a picture of me!" - throws an empty carton he was holding and gave a pose for the camera!

So many things to bring after a day at Sydney road.. I should charge them for carrying these things for them...

Can't you see I'm multi-talented? I was carrying two grocery bags, a cake plate and was "video-caming" too! So much to carry!

While waiting for the tram, MsShooter brought this giant bubble thingy.. so yeah! Mess around with it!

Until some lady at the traffic light was kinda irritated that the bubbles keep popping in her face! whoops!

We had a dinner of about eighteen people... mostly family friends... and since its not always that a student get to taste home made cooking... haha!

Thanks for coming guys! Hope you enjoy the food and the company~!

MOE Conference Dinner

August 3rd, Melbourne - A night where fellow Bruneian students who got together at the Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne, to meet with the Minister of Education. It was  an opportunity to talk to someone who can make studying abroad better or you could say a bit easier... in addition, an opportunity to get to know other Bruneian students in Melbourne.

It was an opportunity event for any students anywhere... this time it's for the students studying in Australia... They were able to get together and ask a panel of directors about a student's situation. It's like the press and the president standing on the stage answering questions...

With one of our dad's old friend, Unc. JH

It went pretty well, except that I believe that majority of students have questions to ask the Minister, but are too (very) shy to ask in front of many people.

Majority of the students there came with the government allowance in their head. They have been in a similar situation to those students in UK. Unfortunately, the increase of allowance has benefit UK students only, and Australia students are still under review.

The Serbini and the Harun sisters with Auntie D.L.

Another problem that haven't appear much is about private students, where parents are government workers..?? We only get allowance of about B$800 only for a long time and has not changed for a very long time. It is another matter that can be looked at.. Why do students like myself not been given a similar benefit like those on scholarships? It would be nice that the govt' take a look at this...

Any thoughts? DO share...

Mamma Mia!

Tonight was a girls night, so Ms Nee and I decided to catch the movie Mamma Mia based from a broadway musical. My opinion... A splendid movie! If you like Hairspray, you will definitely love Mamma Mia! I like this more than I like Hairspray, maybe it's because I know the songs and that I can sing along to it.... The movie was hilarious and the music put together with the story was superb! It's a feel good movie! I was definitely not disappointed...

Synopsis:
A story of a 20 year old bride-to-be, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), who is to marry her boyfriend Sky (Dominic Cooper) at her mother's hotel on an island in Greece. She seemingly has it all -- a carefree life, a loving fiance, and happy friends -- but one thing has been missing all her life: a father.
Her only wish now is to be given away by her dad at her wedding. By reading her mother's (Meryl Streep) diary she discovers that she has three possible fathers. Sophie then secretly invites all three men (Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Pierce Brosnan & Colin Firth) to the wedding in a desperate bid to discover which of them is her father before the wedding bells start to chime!
But not all goes according to plan: old loves are re-kindled, new loves are formed, and Sophie risks everything to discover the true identity of her father.

Featuring the songs of ABBA, and based on the world's number one musical comedy which has people dancing in the aisles every night!
